Scholarships & Grants

2026 Scholarship Applications for Maui High School Seniors and Enrolled UH Maui College Students. Apply now. 

Up to four enrolled students will receive $2500 for their higher education.

Maui high schools seniors  ​2026 application season is open until Friday April 10th; 2pm.  Deadline passed. 

University of Hawai'i, Maui College student deadline is Friday June 19, 2026; 2pm. 

 

Eligibility: Maui high school seniors and current enrollees at University of Hawai'i, Maui College. Eligible students are successfully moving to their next academic year in 2026 and able to articulate how their career ambitions will contribute to the maritime environment of West Maui and its residents.

2025 Winners

Our first $3000 Maui high school senior scholarship winners are Janice Yabo and Ella Forward, paid directly to their college of choice.

 

Congratulations to Janice, Ella and their ohanas! Both of them received rave reviews from mentors, teachers and employers for their leadership, community dedication and focus. Thank you to all applicants, it was a very tough decision.

Adult Business Education​​

We are offering repayment grants to qualified adult Maui residents who complete accredited maritime commercial classes such as celestial navigation, commercial captaining, ocean wayfaring, boating safety, water or ecological maintenance, ocean rescue or other appropriate EMT training. Contact us for more information.

Ocean Safety, Culture &
Skill Mastery Classes

We are currently reaching out to local organizations that support the work of masters of Polynesian and Euro-based wayfaring, navigation, maritime cultural practices, watercraft skill, craft mastery, oceanic and shoreline safety, and disaster response.  

Our goal is to underwrite classes, extending their expertise to the public, building community, strength and resilience. 

 

Donations to this program will support their livelihood, their organization's strength and our community aloha.

Our funding goals:

  • Scientific studies and projects to increase water life health.  ​

  • Classes that teach respectful interaction with the powers of our land and sea.

  • Restoring the land and water health of the Mokuhinia waterway ecosystem. 

  • Family oriented get togethers for clean-ups and shoreline fun.
